Alex Roetter ran engineering at Twitter from 2014 to 2016 and is currently a general partner at Moxxie Ventures. He joins Big Technology Podcast to evaluate the product changes Elon Musk has expressed interest in, looking at whether they are feasible and could actually help the company. We go point by point through six potential changes and then discuss whether society, Twitter users, and Musk himself will be happy with the deal five years from now.
Oprahdemics - Oprah And Tyler Perry (And Madea Too)
Tyler Perry appeared on the Oprah Winfrey Show ten times over the years — sometimes to go deep on his traumatic past, and sometimes in over-the-top drag as Madea. It’s complicated, it’s deep, it’s messy, and we break it all down.

Code Story: Insights from Startup Tech Leaders - S6 Bonus: Jack Naglieri, Panther Labs
Jack Naglieri grew up in Ohio, but moved to Virginia when he was 10. He had a normal east coast family up-bringing, but he focused on tech early on, even as a kid. Eventually, he went to George Mason to study Cyber Security. Outside of tech, he is into cooking and fitness. He focuses a lot on making sure that his body and brain are in a good state, through exercise, meditation, sleep and healthy eating.
Jack was working as an incident responder previously, and during that time, he figured out that AI based models for breach detection don't work as well as intuitive humans, as often times there isn't enough signal for them. Along with using antiquated sets of data, he decided that there must be a way to leverage the cloud and build a solution to solve the pain points within this process.
This is the creation story of Panther Labs.

Honestly with Bari Weiss - Your Attention Didn’t Collapse. It Was Stolen.
The average American adult spends over three hours a day staring into their phone. If you’re a teenager it’s even worse – seven hours. What’s really troubling is that in study after study, people say that they want to be looking at their screens less. They just don’t know how. They’ve lost control.
Johann Hari interviewed over 200 of the world’s leading experts on focus and attention for his new book, Stolen Focus: Why You Can’t Pay Attention and How to Think Deeply Again. What he found was that your attention didn’t collapse. It’s been stolen from you. So on today’s episode, while everyone is busy debating what Elon Musk is doing to Twitter, Johann explains what Twitter is doing to all of us.
