Joe Biden lands in Saudi Arabia this morning, having spent two unremarkable days in Israel and the West Bank. As president, he has been unusually disengaged from the Middle East, and will probably return home with little to show for his peregrinations. We survey the state of sex education in Latin American schools, and explain why dinosaurs outcompeted other species.
Budweiser was the exclusive beer sponsor of the Super Bowl until today — and that made Molson Coors the most creative beer in advertising. The founder of Oculus has a new plan: Become Iron Man (he’s pulling a Tony Stark in real life). And if you enjoy the heated seats in a BMW, you’re gonna have to pay extra for them… because BMW is jumping into Fee-tail with a Fee-ocracy.

It is the world’s largest island, has the closest point of land to the North Pole, and is the least densely populated political territory on the planet.
80% of it is covered by an ice mass that is second only to the Antarctic ice sheet.
Beneath that ice might just lie the largest collection of untapped natural resources on Earth.
Learn more about Greenland, the island, and the people who live there on this episode of Everything Everywhere Daily.
Today we discuss Amber Heard’s retrial rejection, the tragic story of a 10-year old in Ohio, a NY bodega worker’s deadly confrontation, and an ice cream truck selling $10 popsicles.
Genome sequencing is one of the most exciting scientific breakthroughs of the past thirty years. But what precisely does it involve and how is it developing?
In Genomics: How Genome Sequencing Will Change Healthcare (Random House, 2022), Rachael Pells explains the science behind genomics. She analyses its practical applications in medical diagnosis and the treatment of conditions that range from cancer to severe allergic reactions to cystic fibrosis. She considers its potential to help with advances in agriculture and environmental science. She explores the ethics of genetic modification and the dangers involved when humans 'play God'. And she addresses the fundamental question: to what extent will future advances transform human longevity and the quality of life.

988 is now the 911 of mental health emergencies. The three-digit number will connect you to a crisis call center in your area and a trained counselor to talk, text, or chat with. Andy speaks with Wendy Martinez Farmer and Dr. Linda Henderson-Smith from Beacon Health Options about how 988 reimagines the National Sucicide Prevention Hotline to be more accessible and inclusive, and why you don’t have to be suicidal to call. Suicide attempt survivor and crisis counselor Shelby Rowe opens up about her own mental health journey and explains why resources vary community by community.

The House will vote on the Women’s Health Protection Act today in an effort to codify abortion rights — but without a Democratic majority in the Senate as well, it probably won’t go anywhere. Congresswoman Barbara Lee joins us to discuss what Democrats can actually do on a federal level to protect access to abortion right now.
A 10-year-old rape victim in Ohio had to cross state lines to Indiana a few weeks ago to get an abortion. Her story has garnered national attention recently, specifically from conservatives who sought to discredit it.
And in headlines: the gunman in the Buffalo, New York shooting was charged with 27 counts of federal hate crimes, a Russian airstrike killed at least 23 people in Ukraine, and Texas is suing the Biden administration over its new abortion guidance.

California is moving ahead with a bill that would offer gender-transition medical treatment not just to in-state children, but also to kids across America.
If passed, California’s "Trans Refuge Bill" would allow young people from other states to visit California to receive sex hormones, puberty blockers, and sex-reassignment surgeries.
“What's happened is that there are a number of states that have recognized that these medical interventions are incredibly harmful,” says Erin Brewer, the co-founder of Advocates Protecting Children. But California has decided to “open its doors to people who want to access these medical interventions, even though their states have found them to be incredibly dangerous and worth blocking,” she added.
Brewer is no stranger to the complexities of gender dysphoria, having herself once thought she was a boy as a child after surviving sexual assault. Today, Brewer says she is thankful she did not take medication or have surgeries to alter her body, and hopes more can be done to provide young people struggling with gender dysphoria counseling and other help they need.
Brewer joins “The Daily Signal Podcast” to discuss California’s transgender children bill, and share her own story of struggling with gender dysphoria.
