Jonathan Schanzer joins the podcast to talk about efforts to combat the possible wave of anti-Jewish violence in America that might be triggered by the murders at the Capital Jewish Museum and whether the Trump administration's bludgeoning of Harvard is a wise strategy. Give a listen.
Ukraine and Russia exchange hundreds of prisoners, which President Trump says "could lead to something big." Also: we look at the humanitarian situation in Gaza, and in Norway a man finds a ship in his garden.

The GOP tax bill, now headed to the Senate, would have states pick up more of the tab — meaning states would likely have to raise taxes or cut spending. We'll hear more. But first: Tariff drama is back. Then, after the murder of George Floyd, corporate America pledged billions of dollars to help fight racial inequality. How much has actually been spent?
As South Africa releases its latest crime statistics. Who are the main victims of violent crime and why does the country have such a reputation?
Is there "democratic backsliding" in East Africa? What does this mean? We hear from a human rights activist.
And talk to the man behind a lasting tribute to Thomas Sankara's memory.

On the eve of the five-year commemoration of George Floyd’s death, the Trump administration is withdrawing Department of Justice (DOJ) oversight for police departments in Minneapolis, Phoenix, Louisville, and other cities where the DOJ previously found civil rights violations against Native Americans and other people of color. Floyd’s murder by a Minneapolis police officer prompted global calls for accountability for long standing inequities. Now, Native American racial justice advocates say any progress toward improving unbalanced treatment by law enforcement agencies is stalled, at best. We’ll assess the direction of racial equity in the criminal justice system over the five years since George Floyd’s high-profile death.
