A new book exposes the "lie" of transgender identity, the damage it does to children and families, and the money trail propping it up, the authors say.

"The transgender movement is actually an industry," Jeff Myers, president of Summit Ministries and one of the book's co-authors, told The Daily Signal in an interview Wednesday. Pharmaceutical companies and activists use it "to elevate themselves into positions of political power and to earn obscene profits."

The book, "Exposing the Gender Lie: How to Protect Children and Teens from the Transgender Industry's False Ideology," went live Wednesday and is available in a free ebook version on Summit's website. Myers co-wrote the book with Brandon Showalter, a reporter at The Christian Post.

On today's edition of "The Daily Signal Podcast," a former White House communications staffer said the Department of Energy report lending credence to the theory that COVID-19 leaked from the Wuhan Institute of Virology lab represents an "I-told-you-so to the nth degree" after the legacy media and Big Tech cracked down on then President Donald Trump and others for suggesting it.

"Much of what we are seeing in the news today, especially coming from [President] Joe Biden's agencies, has been a string of lies, so when you see a headline that reads, 'The Department of Energy has confirmed that it does in fact suspect the Wuhan virus came from the Wuhan lab in China,' you almost have to pause for a second and make sure you're not reading a Babylon Bee article," Roma Daravi, former White House deputy director of strategic communications under Trump and founder and CEO of Daravi Strategies, tells The Daily Signal. Daravi joins the show to explain more.

President Joe Biden does not understand the threat China poses to America, according to Sen. Rick Scott. 

“He pacifies [Chinese President Xi Jinping] all the time,” Scott, R-Fla., says of Biden’s relationship with the leader of the Chinese Communist Party. 

“China and Russia pose a threat to American freedom, Scott says, because “both of them don't like us."

"Both of them don't want America to lead the world. They don't like democracy. They don't like freedom. They don't like liberty,” the Florida lawmaker says.

With concerns over ties between China and Russia growing stronger, America has to “assume the worst,” the senator says. If a third world war does break out, “it's because we have a weak president," Scott says. 

Scott joined “The Daily Signal Podcast” to discuss growing geopolitical tensions and what the Biden administration could be doing to secure American freedom. Rep. Mark Green, R-Tenn., also joins today's show to discuss the crisis on the southern border.
