The chairman of the House’s biggest Republican caucus says he “stands by” his call for the impeachment of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas for allowing hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens to cross the southern border. 

Rep. Kevin Hern, R-Okla., first advocated that the House impeach Mayorkas in October, and earlier this week Rep. Pat Fallon, R-Texas, filed articles of impeachment against the homeland security secretary.

“In October of 2022, I think I was the first to formally call for him to be impeached. I stand by that,” Hern, the new chairman of the Republican Study Committee, says on “The Daily Signal Podcast.”

“I actually called first for Mayorkas back in February of 2022 to resign,” the Oklahoma Republican says. “And we had a meeting with him with 40 of our Republican members at the Border Caucus meeting at the Capitol. To his credit, he showed up for the meeting [but] was very, very defiant then that there was any problem, when there’d been some two and a half million people had crossed at that time under his watch.”

“Secretary Mayorkas has been involved with the border since 2005 as the deputy homeland security director, and other immigration processes over the years from California,” Hern says. “And it is amazing to the American people, based on everything that we have seen, that he still thinks there’s control of the southern border.”

Classified documents from Joe Biden’s time as vice president were found Nov. 2, six days before the midterm elections, in Biden’s private office at the Penn Biden Center in Washington. The Biden administration didn’t announce the discovery, which was reported first Monday by CBS News.

Biden commented briefly Tuesday, saying he was “surprised to learn that there were any government records that were taken there to that office.” 

Attorney General Merrick Garland appointed a Trump-appointed U.S. attorney to investigate what happened. 

“It would be funny if it weren’t so serious, right?” Rep. Jim Banks, R-Ind., asks during an interview on “The Daily Signal Podcast,” adding:

What the Biden administration said about Donald Trump and the FBI raid at Mar-a-Lago, and the classified documents [stored there] that they won’t actually tell us what they really were, and then the same thing happens to Joe Biden, his vice presidential records going to the Biden Center, which, by the way, was funded by over $60 million from the Chinese Communist Party.

On the podcast, Banks adds: 

There are two sets of rules in America today: one for anyone named Biden, Obama, or Clinton, and then a different set of rules for the rest of us. And so, because of that two sets of rules and the lack of impartiality by the Biden administration, their DOJ, that’s what we should be investigating.

Banks also discusses the four-day fight over choosing a speaker of the House, what he hopes Republicans will focus on in the 118th Congress, and whether he will spearhead any investigations.

“Social media introduced this idea that I could be a boy,” Chloe Cole says.  

Cole began telling her friends and family that she was a boy when she was 12 years old after she was introduced to gender-identity ideology through social media. She started taking testosterone and puberty blockers at 13 and had a double mastectomy at 15. 

At 16, she detransitioned. 

“I decided to stop transitioning entirely,” Cole says. “It was too much for me, and I knew that I couldn't keep lying to myself.”

Cole joins “The Daily Signal Podcast” to explain how she became involved in the transgender movement—and why she ultimately decided to walk away. Today, Cole is working to prevent other young people from making the same irreversible mistake she did.

President Joe Biden traveled to Mexico on Sunday night and spent Monday meeting with Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador. On Tuesday, Biden will attend the summit of North American leaders with Obrador and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. 

Why do these meetings matter, and what will the leaders discuss? Mateo Haydar, a research assistant on Latin America in the Douglas and Sarah Allison Center for Foreign Policy Studies at The Heritage Foundation, says the immigration crisis and "record numbers of fentanyl deaths" will likely be front and center in the conversations among the leaders. America is suffering from a pandemic that is not a virus, it “is a pandemic of fatherlessness.” That’s according to Pastor Kris Vallotton, author of the new book, “Up Rising: The Epic Battle for the Most Fatherless Generation in History.”

“Fifty-one percent of all children in America right now are born out of wedlock, 51%,” Vallotton, the senior associate leader of Bethel Church in Redding, California, says. “In 1950, 4% of Americans were born out of wedlock.” 

The results of children growing up without fathers in the home are devastating, Vallotton says, with data revealing that “75% of all inmates grew up without a father,” and “63% of all youth suicides come from fatherless homes.” 

Vallotton also points to a rise in transgenderism and gay marriage as a side effect of fatherlessness, because “when we embrace gay marriage… what we said is that you can have two mommies and two daddies, because mommies and daddies are interchangeable.”

Vallotton joins “The Daily Signal Podcast” to share his own personal story of losing his father as a young boy and how that affected his life, and to offer a hopeful solution for how children can experience the love of a father amid a fatherless generation.
