The Daily Signal - INTERVIEW | Hans von Spakovsky on If Election Results Are Trustworthy

Following the midterm elections, voters want to know that their vote was counted and that the election was secure.

Concern over election security exists among Republicans and Democrats alike, but are the fears founded?

"I think we can trust many, if not most, of our elections, but there are elections where either people cheat or significant errors are made by election officials that question the result," says Hans von Spakovsky, co-author of “Our Broken Elections: How the Left Changed the Way You Vote," in an interview recorded ahead of Election Day.

Von Spakovsky, who is also the manager of the Election Law Reform Initiative and senior legal fellow at The Heritage Foundation, joins “The Daily Signal Podcast” to discuss the frequency of voter fraud and the states with the best and worst election security laws. (The Daily Signal is the news outlet of The Heritage Foundation.)

Concerns over inflation and the economy are driving voters to the polls.

After three rounds of polling, Heritage Action for America Communications Director Noah Weinrich says the economy and inflation are the top issues for between 30% and 50% of voters.

“And even for the other voters who have another issue as their top concern, the economy is in their top three,” Weinrich says.

Abortion, border security, and crime are three other leading concerns for voters, he said.

Weinrich joins “The Daily Signal” podcast to discuss the issues dominating the midterm elections and the biggest races to watch on Election Day.

The Daily Signal - INTERVIEW | Why This Solar Company CEO Wants to Drill

Drew Bond, co-founder and president of C3 Solutions, is a serial entrepreneur. Having founded several companies in the energy industry, he’s now leading an organization that helps conservatives counter the Left’s radical environmental ideas.

“I would argue that many conservatives are, in fact, better environmentalists than many in the environmental community,” Bond tells The Daily Signal.

He brings to the job experience as a solar company CEO who is passionate about expanding all types of American energy, including drilling and pipelines to meet the needs of U.S. consumers. Bond previously worked as chief of staff to former Heritage Foundation President Ed Feulner. (The Daily Signal is the media outlet of The Heritage Foundation.)

The Daily Signal - INTERVIEW | Former EU Ambassador Gordon Sondland on Working Under Trump and Foreign Policy Wins

President Donald Trump’s greatest foreign policy achievement was the Abraham Accords advancing peace in the Middle East, says Gordon Sondland, who served as ambassador to the European Union under Trump.

"I think the strategy behind the Abraham Accords was you can't keep doing the same thing and expect a different result," Sondland says.

The Abraham Accords is the formal term for agreements to normalize relations between Israel and its Arab neighbors, including the United Arab Emirates and Morocco and later Sudan and Morocco. It is viewed as a historic victory for peace in the Middle East.

In his new book “The Envoy: Mastering the Art of Diplomacy with Trump and the World,” Sondland discusses Trump’s biggest diplomatic moves and what it was like working with the president behind closed doors.

Sondland joins this episode of “The Daily Signal Podcast” to talk about his book and his relationship with the former president.

The Daily Signal - INTERVIEW | Teacher Peter Vlaming on Being Fired for Refusing to Use ‘Preferred’ Pronouns

Peter Vlaming believes words have power, a conviction that cost him his job.

Vlaming was fired from his position teaching French at West Point High School in Virginia in 2018 for refusing to call a female student by male pronouns.

Vlaming said he was essentially given the option to either “deny” his own “Christian belief, in order to stay in the school system,” or stand and fight.

“Sooner or later, you have to say, ‘No, I'm not going to do that,’” he said, a decision that cost him his teaching career.

Vlaming sued the school board, and now, the Virginia Supreme Court will hear Vlaming’s case on Friday.

Vlaming and Caleb Dalton, senior counsel at the Alliance Defending Freedom, join "The Daily Signal Podcast" to discuss the significance of the case and what the court’s decision could mean for the free speech rights of teachers.
