Whether talking about the family, politics, or culture, abortion has created division and continues to do so, Ryan Anderson and Alexandra DeSanctis say. 

In a leaked draft opinion in the case of Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito wrote, “Far from bringing about a national settlement of the abortion issue, [Roe v. Wade] and [Planned Parenthood v. Casey] have enflamed debate and deepened division.”

That statement, Anderson says, is a succinct description of what Roe v. Wade has done to America. 

Anderson and DeSanctis are the authors of the new book “Tearing Us Apart: How Abortion Harms Everything and Solves Nothing.” They explain how abortion has affected many spheres of our society, and what can be done to instill a value for life across America.

Republicans have faced their share of challenges to connect with black Americans and persuade them to support GOP candidates. In the 2020 election, for example, black voters overwhelmingly backed Joe Biden over Donald Trump, 92% to 8%.

But all hope isn't lost. Political consultant Raynard Jackson, who advises Republican candidates, says there are some political leaders who are making positive inroads. He joins "The Daily Signal Podcast" to offer his critique of the Republican Party and share solutions.

Thanks to virtual schooling during the COVID-19 pandemic, parents were horrified to discover the radical lesson plans their children's activist teachers were teaching. Lessons on critical race theory and on sexual orientation and gender identity caused parents to realize they would have to take their kids' education into their own hands.

Post-pandemic, the homeschool boom hasn't let up, as parents realize they can effectively teach their children and guide their education in a way that aligns with their values.

Christian actor and filmmaker Kirk Cameron wants to demonstrate how freedom-loving Americans can best start their own homeschool journeys with his new documentary film "The Homeschool Awakening."

"No one loves [your kids] more than you do as a mom and dad, and no one's better positioned to teach them. You've been doing it since Day One," says Cameron. "You taught them how to walk. You taught them how to talk. At the end of the day, whoever controls the textbooks has possession of the future, either for good or for evil."

Cameron joins the show to discuss his new documentary, and help parents understand how they can best embark on their own homeschooling journey.

As Americans watch their government leaders spend more and more, the average citizen is struggling to pay for food and gas. It seems that the Biden administration is more concerned with placating a base of radical leftists than crafting a federal budget designed to help everyday Americans.

To Rep. Kevin Hern, R-Okla., the government needs to focus on balancing its budget, especially as it continues to spend exorbitant amounts of money.

"The only place in America without a balanced budget has been the federal government, and we're seeing the ramifications of that with high inflation, skyrocketing fuel prices, skyrocketing food prices," Hern says. "The list goes on and on."

Hern says the out-of-control government spending under President Joe Biden has dire consequences for the safety of the nation.

"I think if we don't start now, we're never going to get our federal spending under control," the Oklahoma Republican says. "Interest on our debt is going to be higher than our defense budget in just five years. Much of that interest is going to go to China, where they're going to use their money to build a defense to come after us."

In the aftermath of a series of horrible mass shootings across the country, there is a knee-jerk reaction to demonize gun owners and call for sweeping gun control legislation.

But more often than not, those in the media and political classes calling for assault weapon bans and other gun control don't understand the very things they're legislating.

"There's just a complete lack of basic knowledge on the topic of firearms," says Stephen Gutowski. "How they work, how they're regulated, what the politics even are around them, why people oppose different policies that are often put forward in the wake of these shootings."

What is a woman? Seems like a pretty simple question. But in today’s America, the left thinks females aren't the only ones who count as women anymore. Stories abound of biological males not only invading women's private spaces such as bathrooms and locker rooms, but dominating in women's sports.

All of this comes with the support of radical leftists and activists in medicine.

Worse, those medical doctors aren't just focused on treating adults. Transgender ideologues have targeted children.

Matt Walsh, author, podcast host, and filmmaker with The Daily Wire, has released a documentary film titled "What Is a Woman?" that he hopes will expose the worst aspects of gender ideology.

"You feel like you're staring into the pit of hell, honestly. I mean, you're looking at pure evil when you consider what they're doing to these kids, and they know what they're doing," Walsh says. "They have to know what they're doing, because they're the doctors and they know what it entails. They know that this stuff is obviously irreversible and they also know that kids can't actually consent to any of this stuff."

Walsh adds:

Kids don't know what they're doing. They're not looking five, 10 years into the future. I mean, even before you get to surgery and that's horrific enough, you've got the drugs, the hormone drugs, the so-called puberty blockers, and those drugs among other consequences, they also have the effect of sterilizing kids.

In Utah, Treasurer Marlo Oaks is fighting S&P Global Ratings, which adopted ESG to make decisions about the credit ratings of state and local governments. He's also warning Americans that it'll soon affect them as well—if it hasn't already.

"Most Americans don't want to be exposed to politics in the workplace and in our choices as consumers, but that's where we're going," Oaks tells The Daily Signal. "They're using our money against us, to drive a political agenda that most of us don't want."
