Philosophers In Space - 0G92: Watchmen and Subjective vs. Objective

This episode feels like a genuine culmination. After Wonkapiercer, I felt a little like Lindelof. Kind of lost, wondering if we could ever wrap something up in a fully satisfying way again. This feels pretty close. We've talked a lot of Watchmen on this show, and a lot of Thomas Nagel, and this week we bring it all together in one big blue climax.

Ologies with Alie Ward - Cryoseismology (ICEQUAKES) with Celeste Labedz

Glaciers: Where are they? What are they made of? What happens when chunks splinter off into the sea? There are ICEQUAKES? CalTech Cryoseismologist Celeste Labedz sometimes wears a cape with her snowpants and spends part of her career shooting explosions into giant chunks of ice and recording the seismic activity, analyzing the rivers that flow through glaciers, and keeping tabs on glacial melt. Also discussed: the most goth way to honor a glacier, and whether or not you should visit them IRL.

The Goods from the Woods - TEASER – Patreon Episode #15 – “Road House” with Tyler Jackson

This week on the Patreon, Rivers sits down with comedian Tyler Jackson for his VERY FIRST viewing of the 1989 Swayze classic, 'Road House'! We talk about the absolutely fantastical world this movie posits; a world in which there are world famous bouncers, throats are rippable, and taxidermied polar bears can fall on a fat man at an extremely slow velocity. Pain don't hurt and neither does this episode. The movie is insane. If you've never seen it, it's currently streaming on Hulu. Stuff They Don't Want You To Know - Why do some people think cannabis can cure cancer?

With a growing number of Western countries decriminalizing or outright legalizing cannabis, the controversial plant seems set to become an acceptable alternative to some preexisting treatments for appetite loss, chronic pain and more. Yet some supporters of medicinal marijuana products argue the chemicals in this plant can do much more than just make someone hungry or ease their pain -- marijuana, they argue, may actually cure cancer, and this is something the established pharmaceutical industry doesn't want you to know. So how do these claims hold up?
