Serious Inquiries Only - SIO176: Eli Bosnick on the Trial of Peter Boghossian
There has been another chapter in the ongoing saga of classical liberal types seeking to prove that entire fields of academia are bogus. They allegedly do so by publishing a handful of fake studies and papers in a few different academic journals, mostly in the field of gender studies. Due to the fact that these hoaxes have utilized fake data, wasted tons of innocent people's time, and possibly constituted human experimentation, Peter Boghossian has come under a totally reasonable investigation. This hasn't stopped the usual IDW types from reacting as though Boghossian is awaiting public execution. Eli, who broke down the original hoax expertly in SIO44, is back to provide an informed and hilarious breakdown of the whole thing!
Twitter thread on datasets; letter from PSU faculty; excellent Slate article.
Here are Eli's notes and links that I am publishing in a clear violation of his copyright:

Philosophers In Space - 0G40: Total Recall and Locke’s Theory of Personal Identity, Part 2
Was 0G39 a little too short for you? Did you feel ultimately unfilled after listening to it? Well, good news! Here at Podcall, we can implant a part two that will feel so real and lifelike and enriching, it will make you forget your drab existence before hearing it. And that's not all! Pay extra and we'll throw in some paranoid delusions. Already feeling them? That's how you know it's working. Wondering when you'll know that it's stopped working?! That's the great part, you'll never be able to prove it either way. Enjoy!
That's right, it's Total Recall pt.2: Rise of the Mutants! We're lucky enough to have our wonderful special guest, Elizabeth Picciuto (@epicciuto on twitter) writer and associate editor of Arc Digital (ArcDigi on twitter). We continue with our discussion of the weirdness of memory based personhood, and try to squeeze in a little three boob lady analysis after dark.

The Goods from the Woods - Episode #229 – “Jazz” with Richard Sarvate
In this episode, the Goods from the Woods Boys and their special guest host, comedian John-Michael Bond, sit down with Frisco Funnyman Richard Sarvate for an episode about the most misunderstood genre of American music: JAZZ! We're talking about all the greats: Coltrane, Davis, Hancock, and Tesh! We also start this great talk off with a simple question: How much money is "Fuck You" money? The answer may shock you. Plus! Apparently, being a maniac is a prerequisite for being a chicken billionaire because, like the founder of Popeyes, Colonel Sanders was insane too. This episode has it all. Dig it now! Ologies with Alie Ward - Snow Hydrology (SNOW & AVALANCHES) with Ned Bair
It's tiny! It's beautiful! It's cold! It can kill you. Snow and avalanche expert Dr. Ned Bair meets up on a bench during a layover to chat about the beauty of snowflakes, the best ammo for snowball fights, firing cannons at mountainsides, avalanche flam-flam, the dangers of snow patrolling, a lifesaving goat-antelope, the best and worst ski movies and a mentor that changed his life. Also: bomb cyclones and some tips on excavating your car. Or just staying inside.
